The history of DC United
DC United was founded in 1996 and is based in Washington, D.C. The club is one of the oldest and most successful in Major League Soccer (MLS). DC United has an impressive history, having won several MLS Cup titles, and has long been a strong representative of the American capital.
The team plays its home matches at Audi Field, a modern stadium with a capacity of over 20,000 spectators. The club’s colours are black, red, and white, and its supporters — known as The Screaming Eagles and Barra Brava — create a passionate and vibrant atmosphere during matches.
DC United has a tradition of attracting international stars and has featured prominent players who have contributed to the club’s success. Among them, Wayne Rooney has both played for and managed the team.
