About the Hungarian Grand Prix
The Hungaroring Circuit is located 19 kilometres from Budapest and stretches across a large valley, meaning spectators can see around 80 percent of the track. The circuit is narrow, twisty, and often dusty, creating a challenging and highly technical race where anything can happen. In 1986, it became the venue for the first Grand Prix held behind the Iron Curtain. Some even compare the Hungaroring to the Circuit de Monaco because of its tight and winding corners.

How do I get to the Hungaroring?
You can get to the circuit in the following ways:
Train/Metro – Take the red M2 line from Budapest to Örs vezér tere. Then leave the station, cross the street, and transfer to the suburban train towards Gödöllő. Get off at Kerepes HÉV. From there, free shuttles (with an F1 ticket) run to Gate 3 at the circuit. The whole journey takes about 90 minutes.
Car – Driving takes a bit longer than taking a taxi since you’ll often need to use a separate route. Remember to buy a vignette to use the motorway. Parking is free, but expect heavy traffic and limited availability.
Taxi – A taxi from Budapest to the circuit costs around €40 one way and takes about 40 minutes. Make sure to book only with official taxi companies, as they are the only ones allowed close access to the circuit. Expect long queues for taxis after the race.
Keep in mind that traffic jams are common, and the trip to and from the circuit will likely take longer than expected.
