The history of Arsenal WFC
Arsenal Women Football Club was founded in 1987 under the name Arsenal Ladies Football Club and is also known by the nickname The Gunners.
Over the years, the club has become the most successful women’s football team in England. Arsenal Women have won the top division 15 times, the Women’s FA Cup 14 times, and the UEFA Women’s Champions League once.
The team plays its home matches at two venues — Meadow Park, which has a capacity of 4,500 spectators, and Emirates Stadium, which seats 60,704 fans.
