The history of Como
Como 1907 is based in the city of Como, Lombardy, and was founded in 1907. Throughout much of its history, the club has moved between Serie A and Serie B, and has even played in Serie D. On several occasions, Como 1907 has had to restart from the lower divisions due to financial difficulties, but despite these challenges, the club has shown great determination and has continued to fight its way back up to the higher tiers.
The 1949/50 season marked Como’s first appearance in Serie A, with their best league finish being ninth place in 1983/84. A change of ownership in 2019 provided the financial foundation needed to begin their climb back to the top division. The signing of former star Cesc Fàbregas helped spark their resurgence, and Serie A football awaits from the 2024/25 season.
The club plays its home matches at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, a scenic stadium situated on the shores of Lake Como, with a capacity of just under 8,000 spectators.
