The history of Manchester City WFC

Manchester City Women’s Football Club was founded in 1988 under the name Manchester City Ladies. Today, the team is also known by nicknames such as The Citizens, The Blues, City, and Man City.

Over the years, the club has collected an impressive number of trophies, including the Women’s Super League title in 2016, three Women’s FA Cup victories (2016–17, 2018–19, 2019–20), and four FA Women’s League Cup titles (2014, 2016, 2018–19, 2021–22).

Manchester City’s women’s team plays its home matches at the Joie Stadium (formerly Academy Stadium), which has a capacity of around 7,000 spectators.
