The history of Le Havre AC
Le Havre AC was founded in 1872 and is considered one of the oldest football clubs in France – with a history that stretches back to the early days of the sport in the country. The club comes from the northern French port city of Le Havre and proudly wears its traditional light blue and dark blue colours. With the nickname "Le Club Doyen" (“the oldest club”), Le Havre holds a special place in French football.
Over the years, Le Havre has been a regular participant in both Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 and is perhaps best known for its player development. The club has produced several high-profile players who later succeeded at the highest level, and its academy has long been regarded as one of the best in France.
