The History of PSV Eindhoven
PSV Eindhoven was founded in 1913 and is based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The club has an impressive history and has been a dominant force both domestically and internationally.
PSV, which stands for Philips Sport Vereniging (“Philips Sports Union”), has won the Dutch top division, the Eredivisie, many times. The club has also enjoyed success on the European stage, including winning the European Cup (now the UEFA Champions League) in 1988.
The home ground, Philips Stadion in Eindhoven, holds 35,000 spectators and is where PSV play in their traditional red and white kits. The club has a strong tradition of developing young talent through its academy and has produced numerous outstanding players over the years.
