The History of Burnley
Burnley FC, also known as The Clarets, is an English football club based in Burnley, Lancashire. Originally a rugby club, they switched to football in 1882 and have since built a proud history. Their honours include two league titles and one FA Cup victory.
Burnley play their matches at the historic Turf Moor, which has been their home ground since the club’s foundation. The stadium holds around 21,400 spectators, and The Clarets’ supporters are renowned for creating an incredible atmosphere in both good times and bad.
Ahead of the 2023/24 season, the club returned to the Premier League after being relegated the previous year and spending a season in the Championship.
