The History of Girona FC
Girona Futbol Club was founded in 1930 and has often narrowly missed out on a place in the top division, La Liga. Girona played their first season in La Liga in 2017–18 but were relegated back to the second division, the Segunda División, in 2019–20.
Since their most recent promotion to La Liga in 2022, however, Girona have shown their best side, achieving many impressive results as they battle at the top of the league.
Girona FC play their home matches at Estadi Montilivi, which has a capacity of around 14,624 spectators.
