The history of Málaga CF
Málaga CF was founded in 1904 and, as the name suggests, is based in the city of Málaga on Spain’s southern coast. The club plays its home matches at Estadio La Rosaleda, which has a capacity of around 30,000 spectators. Over the years, Málaga has experienced both highs and lows, with its golden era coming during the 2010s.
In 2012, Málaga achieved the greatest success in its history by qualifying for the UEFA Champions League and reaching the quarter-finals, where they faced Borussia Dortmund. The club also won the Copa del Rey once, in 2003.
Málaga has been home to several international players, including stars such as Isco and Santi Cazorla. Although the club has recently faced challenges and played in the Segunda División, it is determined to reclaim its place in La Liga and experience a new golden era of success.
