The history of Burgos CF
Burgos CF, founded in 1936, hails from the Castilian city of Burgos in northern Spain. Throughout its history, the club has moved between different divisions, but it is best remembered for its spell in La Liga during the 1970s – a period in which Burgos became known as a strong, resilient and difficult-to-beat home side. Home matches are played at Estadio El Plantío, a traditional stadium with more than 12 000 seats and an atmosphere built on local pride, commitment and long-standing football culture.
